There are other advisors in the department who are doing biological experiments, and I know stu is looking for experimentalists, however my strengths don't offer me up for that position.

In general, it's a pretty open work environment where Stu provides a lot of good and crazy ideas, but as a student you will need to be quite a self-starter to flesh out those ideas and turn them into something concrete.

Why do you want to join this Network?: I read Reinventing the Sacred and it hit a serious chord with me. I've been panentheistic and scientific at heart since I was a small girl.

Science and religion aren't diametric opposites. They're exploring the universe from different directions--the objective and the subjective. Life is about experience, and science is about mapping that experience, but science can't replace the experience.

I'm excited about life.
